Paige Claassen frees Middle Earth, 8b at 4000m in Ecuador
American climber Paige Claassen has made the first ascent of Middle Earth, an 8b located in the Cajas National Park in Ecuador at an altitude of 4000m.

Paige Claassen's Lead Now Tour is almost come to an end. After the stages in South Africa, Italy, Japan, China, India and Turkey, the time came to discover the South American continent and in particular Ecuador and Chile. In the "almost mythical" Cajas National Park she managed to free a project bolted by local climber Mickey Verduga, a technical 8b at Yellow Wall called Middle Earth. The hallmarks of this line: its unique beauty and the fact that it's located at an altitude of 4000m.
