Sébastien de Sainte Marie, first ski descents

Swiss skier Sébastien de Sainte Marie has carried out first ski descents in the Vaudois Alps, Chablais and Aiguilles Rouges.

The Swiss skier and alpinist Sébastien de Sainte Marie has taken advantage of this winter’s good snow conditions to do several first steep ski descents in the Vaudois Alps, Chablais, and Aiguilles Rouges.

Formerly the 30-year-old was based in Chamonix but he now resides in Lausanne on the shores of Lake Geneva and this winter he continued to explore the mountains in his new "back yard". All descents listed below were done without climbing them first.

In September 201 de Sainte Marie attempted the first ski descent of the sSuth face of Shishapangma and reached 7200 meters before being forced to turn around due to the earthquake which resulted in unstable conditions.
