Barbara Raudner climbs Honig 8c

On 03/10/2011 Barbara Raudner repeated Honig 8c in the Höllental, Austria

How many 8c's do you need to climb before moving on to 8c+? This is probably what Austrian Barbara Raudner is currently asking herself after having recently redpointed her 5th 8c at the start of October, Honig her habitual Höllental.

Freed by Bernie Fiedler in 2007, the 45m route is comprised of an initial 25m 7c+ section and this is then followed by three distinct cruxes separated by good rests. Raudner linked it all together in the successful redpoint on 3 October and Honig now joins Keitos Palast (in climbing this in 2006 Raudner became the first Austrian woman to send this grade), Selbst ist das Kind (2007), Doubleoverhead (2008) and Mauerblümchen 8b+/8c (2010, first ascent).
