Walter Bonatti, the final salute in Lecco from the mountaineering world

"A tribute by all those of my generation whose dreams were fuelled by his adventures." With this sentence Andrea Giorda introduced this video which bids farewell to Walter Bonatti. To us it seemed beautiful and fitting that this tribute is accompanied by one the most classic songs of mountaineering, "Signore delle cime", "Lord of the peaks" which, as Rossana Podesta stated in his moving farewell, "Walter loved." Saturday's funeral was both touching and heartfelt, interpreted by the Alpine Choir of Lecco and the numerous people at Villa Gomez, and which united Bonatti with all those alpinists who preceded him on the great journey that awaits us all.
