Barbara Raudner frees Mauerblümchen 8b+/8c at the Frankenfels

First ascents by woman are a rare occurrence in the male-dominated sport of climbing, so Barbara Raudner's Mauerblümchen 8b+/8c at the Frankenfels couldn't go by unnoticed. Raudner established her "Wallflower" together with local Hermann Leb, then freed the route in mid-September.

Apart from the actual difficulties of sending the line, what struck Raudner most was the entire process of cleaning, working and freeing the route. Who knows, perhaps this might blossom into something more!
