The Outdoordays 2008, scheduled for 23 - 25 May, promises to be a unique event for sports outdoors. This event has all the right numbers to become an unmissable reference point for outdoor enthusiasts, specialised companies, field operators, associations, mountain guides and instructors of all those sports which take place in Mother Nature.

The three day event takes place under the slogan "Enjoy three active days outdoors" and participants will be able to check out and text the latest products from the world's leading outdoor specialists. The aim of the trade fair is to promote a hands-on approach to outdoor sports in the special Garda Trentino setting.

The Outdoordays is rendered all the more interesting by three special events, the first being the incredible Skytriathlon which crosses Lake Garda before racing up to Monte Altissimo. The second event is the Ronda Run, a true master race around the lake while the third event, the Eco Walk, is open to all and enables everyone to discover the Mediterranean heart of the Garda region.

But the Outdoordays are driven by the dozens of so-called "Experiences" which are designed to reveal the secrets of the Garda's intricate network of paths, its steep rock faces and the deep waters of the Garda Trentino. With the help of mountain guides and expert instructors everyone will be able to take part in a series of exciting activities outdoors.

Rock climbing, hiking, Vie Ferrate, canyonig, cycling, mountain biking, Nordic Walking and much more can be carried out by beginners and experts alike at the OutdoorDays.

Participation is simple, simply register on: www.outdoordays.it

A CHOICE SELECTION OF OUTDOORDAYS EXPERIENCES:

HIKING - Busatte-Tempesta
Splendid walk high above Lake Garda. Start at Torbole and ascend to the park at Busatte. A breathtakingly beautiful traverse now leads across the lower slopes of Monte Altissimo to Tempesta, the Italian border town during the Austro-
Hungarian rule. A series of steps now lead easily and in complete safety through the rock barrier. Return to Riva del Garda in motorboat.

CANYONING - Canyon Mulini di Tenno
Created specifically for the OutdoorDays, this itinerary is a perfect introduction to canyoning. In just 10 minutes the shuttle bus will transport you from the trade fair to Castello di Tenno, from where you descend to the riverbed, walking beneath an ancient Roman bridge and past two ruined watermills. Continue down past two bends in the river to where the sounds of the canyon disappear giving way to the gentle lapping of the river. Ferns, spraying water, high rock faces and polished chutes create a magic environment. A deafening rumble replaces the gentle splashing and shortly afterwards the foaming waters drop down the first waterfall. Thanks to the tried-and-tested safety techniques and the latest gear you now abseil down in perfect safety through the clouds of water. Relax at the end of the waterfall in the natural Jacuzzi, then continue down some other dips and another natural slide. The canyon now opens up, allowing the sun's rays to enter once again…

VIE FERRATE - Via ferrata Monte Colodri
Easy via ferrata, ideal for beginners to this vertical world who have never used the specialized gear before. This is a classic outing to the summit of Monte Colodi which leads up easy stepped terrain next to one of the most famous rock climbing walls in Europe. Trentino Mountain Guides will accompany you all day long in groups of 5/6 people from the tent at the foot of the wall to the summit of Monte Colodri. The descent leads west through the Laghel valley, down past the Castle back to the starting point from where shuttle buses will transport you back to the Outdoor Village.

CYCLING - From Lake Toblino to Lago di Garda
Descend south from Lake Toblino, one of the most enchanting lakes in the entire Trentino region, to the foot of Monte Casale and enter into the desert of rocks called Marocche. This chaos of limestone boulders of all shapes and sizes hosts rare plant species who have adapted perfectly to this semi-arid rock environment. Monte Brento's steep limestone walls soon appear on the right and these rock faces are not only some of the most famous venues in Europe for sports climbing, but also an ideal take-off point for BASE jumpers. The itinerary continues past Drena castle on the left to first reach the Roman bridge at Ceniga, then Arco and the towering Rupe del Castello. The path now follows the course of River Sarca to where it flows into Lake Garda. Cross the bridge high above the waters to coast the northern shores and reach the port at Riva del Garda and the return to the Outdoor Village.
