Pearson repeats Trauma E9 7a on Dinas Mot

29.04.2007 by Planetmountain

On 27/04/07 James Pearson made the second ascent of "Trauma", E9 7a on Dinas Mot, Llanberis Pass, Wales.

Last Friday James Pearson made the second ascent of "Trauma", E9 7a. Located on Dinas Mot high in Wales' Llanberis Pass, this thin overhanging crackline was first ascended by none other than Leo Houlding in 1999 and had not since been repeated.

According to Dave Brown of HotAches who documented the entire ascent, Pearson checked out the line briefly a week previoulsy, then waited for the rain to stop before repeating it in gale force winds and proclaiming it "an awesome route". With cutting-edge trad repeats and even E10 first ascents ("The Promise" E10 7a, Burbage North,), FB8b flashes ("The Great Shark Hunt", Fb8b, Chironico, Switzerland 04/2007) he’s definitely one to know.
