American Alpine Journal online

06.03.2007 by Planetmountain

The American Alpine Journal is available online as of today.

The American Alpine Journal, one of the most authoritative yearly records of the world's most significant mountaineering and rock-climbing ascents, is available online as of today. The extraordinary database currently includes volumes from four decades of climbing activity, from 1966 to 2005, and will later include all volumes dating back to 1929

Access to this resource, which has been created thanks to the work of dozens of dedicated volunteers, is free of charge by simply checking in at the official site of the American Alpine Club.

John Harlin III, the editor of the AAJ and long-time climber and writer states: "I think the AAJ Online will prove to be the single greatest research tool that mountain exploration has ever known." Fantastic!
