La Montagna di Babele at Padova: theatre, exhibitions, cinema and events
On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of December the first edition of La Montagna di Babele will take place in Padua, Italy. Highline with Armin Holzer and Ale D'Emilia, the theatre piece "A way of being, words by and about Walter Bonatti" with Vasco Mirandola and Piccola Bottega Baltazar, urban trekking, films, exhibitions and events dedicated to the mountains as a place for thought and contemplation.
This weekend the Italian city of Padua will host the first edition of La Montagna di Babele, the Mountain of Babel. Taking part in various parts of the town, this festival is dedicated to the mountains as a place of thought, as a place for the mind and spirit. Just like the biblical tower, in fact, mountains rise up and touch the sky. But in the mountains there are no confused voices, as it is Nature only who speaks up there.
On Saturday afternoon at Palazzo Moroni all eyes turn up to see the city from a different angle, as at 18:00 the international athletes Armin Holzer and Emilia d' Ale will carefully balance across the highline.
The highline is a spectacular sport where athletes walk along webbing tensioned and anchored to mountains or between city buildings. South Tyrol's alpinist and freerider Armin Holzer is one of the world's best highliners and has already walked a line above 5000m. He forms part of the Le Lepri di Misurina group that includes teammate Ale D'Emilia.
At 18:00 the film "The Way" will be screened at the Cinema Theatre Mpx. Directed by Emilio Estevez, this award-winning film starring Emilio's father, Martin Sheen.
In the evening, at 21, still meeting at the Cinema Theatre Mpx with Vasco Mirandola and the Piccola Bottega Baltazar presenting, for the first time in Padua, " A way of being, and words of Walter Bonatti." Venturing through the pages of the books of the great mountaineer Walter Bonatti and among the portraits he made of journalists and friends, this show of music and words builds an intense and moving tribute to the mountain and the man who loved her. The companion Bonatti, Rossana Podesta said that the show 's voice Vasco is that of his beloved companion : one more reason to watch this touching tribute.
On Sunday 8, two events for young and old, because if the Paduan not go to the mountain, the mountain can go a bit ', from Padua.
At 10, departing from the Tomb of Antenor, an output of urban trekking Free : " Up and down the Padua secret." We are sure you know very well our city ?
