Lall in Ice, new icefall in Italy's Valle di Susa

05.02.2013 by Planetmountain

On 26/01/2013 Edoardo Falletta and Andrea Roche made the first ascent of the icefall Lall in Ice (30, III/3+/D3) on Monte Chaberton in Alta Val di Susa, Italy.

A new icefall in Italy's Alta Val di Susa? In all likelihood yes, according to Edoardo Falletta and Andrea Roche who on 26 January made the first ascent of Lall in Ice in their local Val di Susa. The 30m drip is located "at the foot on Monte Chaberton a hidden gully, practically impossible to get to unless you have precise instructions." Which is what we have published here "to allow for repeats" wrote Falletta "but above all to get people to visit these marvellous mountains and forests which unfortunately aren't held in high regard by alpinists, apart from those interested in skiing."
