Super Stridente climbs the Tridente directly in a truly spectacular setting.

GETTING THERE

From Udine: take the A23 motorway and exit at Camporosso. Continue towards Tarvisio (3km) and then follow signs for Slovenia-Cave del Predil. After circa 5 km reach the small village Rio Freddo (817 mt); park opposite the church.

ACCESS

Take the forest road which leads off from the car park (in winter this is often cleared) and walk up this for circa 5 km to a wide clearing and a hut on the right (1000m). Descend to the left down to the river and walk up along this towards the rock face (1.30 hours). From the base of the wall continue left to reach the other "Tridente" icefalls. 2.00 hours.

ROUTE

P1: 50m, 80°-85° circa, belay in a comfortable niche.
P2: Technical drip with exit over small roof and 30m drip, circa 90°

DESCENT

Abalakov abseil.

GEAR

Normal ice climbing gear.

Ripetuta sabato 14 trovando buon ghiaccio. Avvicinamento ora con traccia visto che abbiamo dovuto batterla almeno nel pendio. Cascata di un estetica molto bella, occhio alla candela che ha una crepa circa metà...Bravo Luca Ciao Beppe
