Rio Pelous

The icefall Rio Pelous, also known as Cascata di Campitello, is a beautiful drip immersed in a beautiful, surreal environment a mere 10 minutes from the car park at Col Rodella (Campitello di Fassa). The first vertical section is followed by a narrow gully which, in turn leads to a snow gully from where the third and final vertical pitch begins.

GETTING THERE

From the A22 motorway Modena-Brennero exit at Egna-Ora. Follow signs for Val di Fiemme, then Val di Fassa. After Moena continue towards Canazei, and reach the the “Col Rodella” cable car in Campitello di Fassa.

ACCESS

Park the car park at the “Col Rodella” cable car walk up through the forest directly to the icefall. Walk-in: 10/15 minutes.

DESCENT

Abseil down the route using the bolt belays.
