After a great first pitch the difficulties ease off somewhat. Watch out for avalanches.
GETTING THERE
From the Aosta West motorway exit drive through Cogne and continue to Valnontey. Park at the end of the road.
ACCESS
From Valnontey follow the the cross country piste to the second bridge. Cross this (hydrographic left) and then continue up to the icefalls, slightly further up the valley on the right (20 mins).
DESCENT
Bolt abseil.
GEAR
Normal ice climbing gear.
