Splendid icefall which rarely forms, clearly visible from the Tre Croci pass and the car park at Rio Gere.

GETTING THERE

From Cortina head towards Misurina and reach Passo Tre Croci.

ACCESS

Park the car at the cross country piste at Passo Tre Croci, cross thr road and walk  along the forest road which starts from behind the hotel opposite the car park. After 500m bear off onto the first path right (No. 221). Follow this until it starts leading too far east, then leave the path and head steeply up to the icefall, clearly visible from below. 1.00/1.15 hours depending on the snow cover

ROUTE

P1) Climb a short and easy drip to reach the main difficulties of the icefall. 20 m, 60° SG
P2) Nice vertical pitch. After some easy sections reach the central vertical section, circa 8m high. Climb this then belay. 50 m, 80° / 90° SG.
P3) Climb past the short vertical sections. 45m, 80° / 85°, SG
