Climbing World Cup live streaming no longer free sparks outrage on social media

The IFSC, the International Federation of Sport Climbing, has announced a deal with Flosports. As of tomorrow and for the next three years, the sport climbing World Cups will no longer be streamed online free of charge, but on the American subscription based platform. Social media channels have been inundated with criticism.

Peter Habeler, 74, climbs Eiger North Face again with David Lama

Timeless mountaineering: aged 74 Peter Habeler, one of the world’s greatest mountaineers who in 1978 made the first ascent of Everest without supplementary oxygen together with Reinhold Messner, has now climbed the North Face of the Eiger once again. In 1974 Habeler had climbed the mountain in record time with Messner, while now he repeated the route with another world famous alpinist, young David Lama.

Grandes Jorasses Pointe Whymper / Denis Trento skis SW Couloir

At the end of March 2017 Denis Trento made what might well be the first integral ski descent of the SW Couloir of Pointe Whymper. The video and report of the Italian mountain guide and extreme skier about this ski descent which, in particular the final 400m, has probably never been skied before. Records aside, this is certainly a great and beautiful adventure in the Mont Blanc massif.
