Memorial Tito Traversa
The 1st Memorial Tito Traversa will take place at Ivrea from 14 – 15 June 2014 in remembrance of the young Italian climber Tito Traversa.
This weekend Ivrea hosts the first Memorial Tito Traversa, a bouldering competition open to all and an important moment to remember the 12-year old climber who died as a result of the tragic accident at Orpierre in France last July.
This first Memorial is part of the Eporedia Active Days, an event that includes various outdoor sports such as mountain biking, kayaking, running and climbing. Despite being a true bouldering competition, the organisers are keen to stress that the idea behind the event is to have fun, climb together and remember the youngster.
The bouldering competition is split into several categories, Open, Under 14, Under 12 and Under 10 and over 60 climbers have currently registered, of all ages and not only from Italy - the first to sign up was a great friend of Tito who'll travel all the way from Germany to take part. It goes without saying that everyone is invited!
Registration for the Open competition, which takes place on Saturday, is accepted on the day, while registration for the Under 14, 12 and 10 events that take place on Sunday 15 June, must be made before Saturday at 19:00. A medical certificate is required. For rules and online registration click here.
