Glowacz and Jasper return to Patagonia

Stefan Glowacz and Robert Jasper return to Patagonia to complete their route on the North Pillar of Murallón (2831m).
Stefan Glowacz and Robert Jasper in Patagonia for the third year running. In an attempt to pick up where they left off, the German duo have once again set their sights on the demanding North Pillar of Cerro Murallon (2831m).

In 2004 Glowacz and Jasper climbed a line up the North Pillar and got to within 250 m of the summit, before storms forced them to retreat. In a grueling six-day period they established 21 pitches, climbing 17 free (9/9+) and aiding 4 (A2), which they now hope will go free.

No newcomers to the harsh Patagonian environment, in 2003 Glowacz and Jasper teamed up for the presumably third ascent of the mountain with their new "The Lost World"(V 5.10+ M8, 1100m, Glowacz-Jasper-Fengler, 2003). As many will remember, Murallón was first climbed in 1984 by the Italians Cassimiro Ferrari, Carlo Aldè and Paolo Vitali in a historic Patagonian ascent (VI 5.10 A2/3 80°, 1500m, Aldè-Ferrari-Vitali, 1984).
