| Top Rock Challenge -Cortina d'Ampezzo IV° Stage - Cortina -13 & 14 August 1998 The fourth stage of the International Bouldering Competition took place in mid-August in the centre of Cortina. Almost 60 athletes from eight different nations competed. Only Tim Fairfield, Salvat Rakhmetov and Liv Sansoz onsighted all the problems on Thursday, thus qualifying , along with 18 other men and all the women, for the Final. The next day Stephanie Bodet made no mistakes and took first place in front of her team-mate Sansoz and the Russian Inozemtseva. The Slovenian Jure Golob, only participant to solve an incredibly difficult jumping start, won leaving the Russian Rakhmetov and the Italian Nardi to contemplate a well-deserved second and third place. |
